Meet Rylind Davis
For those whom I have not yet had the pleasure of meeting, I'd like to take a moment to introduce myself.
My name is Rylind Davis, and I am proud to be a lifelong resident of Huntsville. I grew up here, attended Saint Mary Catholic Elementary School and Saint Dominic Catholic Secondary School, and today I'm studying History and Criminology at Lakehead University with the goal of becoming a high school teacher.
Huntsville is more than just the place where I live—it's my home. It's where I've built lifelong friendships, where I've learned the value of community, and where I've been fortunate to grow up surrounded by incredible people and beautiful natural spaces.
For the past several years, I've had the privilege of serving on both the Huntsville and District of Muskoka Accessibility Advisory Committees (currently on leave during the campaign). Through this role, I've worked to advocate for greater accessibility and inclusion, particularly for young people with disabilities and families in our community. That experience has shown me how important it is to listen, collaborate, and ensure every voice is heard.
Outside of community service, I help manage my family's farm and bed and breakfast, volunteer as a public speaker and mentor to youth in Ontario's youth correctional centres, and continue my university studies. These experiences have taught me the importance of hard work, responsibility, and giving back.
I'm running for Ward Councillor because I believe Huntsville's best days are still ahead. I want to bring a fresh perspective to Council, represent people who may not always see themselves reflected in local government, and work with residents to build a community that is safe, accessible, financially responsible, and prepared for the future.
My campaign will focus on:
• Strengthening Public Safety
• Expanding Transit and Accessibility
• Investing in Parks, Recreation, and our Waterfront
• Improving Roads and Infrastructure
• Supporting Responsible Growth and Affordable Housing
• Delivering a Responsible Government that Respects Taxpayers and Improves the Customer Service Experience for Residents
Over the coming months, I look forward to meeting as many residents as possible, hearing your ideas, and earning your trust.
If you see me at a community event or around town, please don't hesitate to say hello. I'd love the opportunity to hear what's important to you.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me, and thank you for your support throughout this campaign.
